What is a quick way to search design patents so that you get one of the drawings as a result?
If you try google patents, you get utilities too, and the thumbnails are too small, so you still have to open them up. I don’t see a way to specify just designs. If you include “the ornamental design” in the search, you do get just designs but I can’t tell if you miss other designs because “the ornamental design” might not be required text on all designs.
If you try Freepatentsonline, you can specify designs with “pt/d”, but you don’t get drawings until you open the pdf’s.
So is there an easy way to get a screen full of design apps and patents, similar to how Instagram pages look?
Seaching non verbal items is never easy, yet the main idea is to ‘verbalize” your search.
We at PATENTim.Online, find that the easiest platform for us to conduct a design search is in WIPOs “Global Design Database”, it has a very intuitive UI and it uses words, phrases and clasifiactions to enable search. this is the introduction from Wipos site:
Via a single, intuitive interface, the Global Design Database enables free, simultaneous searches of more than industrial designs registered under the WIPO-administered Hague System and/or in participating national collections.
